Since William is "very well informed on the subject of  university art
programs." -- and since he has said nothing about how social scientists have
studied them -- I'll bet they haven't-- or if they have -- the educational
community has given them scant attention.

Talk about ironic!

Here we have an enormous, worldwide  community of scholars that  provides
regular and thorough critiques of every major economic, political, and
cultural activity -- except its own.  (I even know a scholar from DePaul  who
publishes academic papers on the Beatles. He's called a "Fabologist")

Has anyone here ever seen something like a history of the American university
?

Perhaps such a study would be considered -- ummm -- politically incorrect ?
