But I can't answer how  the "phenomenal/noumenal argument" (as Kate
understands it) applies to her experience with paintings and drawings.

That's why I asked.

(And if her answers are good ones -- what difference does it make whether
anyone ridicules them?)

And I also don't know whether anyone, besides  William, thinks that they apply
nothing but "metaphorical thinking - as-if imaginings" when looking at art.

You seem to be trying to shut down discussion, here, William, about  your own
ideas.  (but then, if reason cannot overcome feeling, what's the point of
discussion anyway, except for emotional venting)
