And at the same time utterly cutthroat.. Old school biz and not one
bit dedicated in staying that way other than the good biz parts.. Do
not go _near_ their radio stuff without permission...

Oh and by the way, my short experience taught me a great deal about UPR.
What I learned is that they are a fantastic company in all respects.
Everyone I dealt with was knowledgeable, very competent, and just really
great to work with. I have no doubt if they have the will to succeed as
a WISP they would. They may have decided they don't have the will.

I have insight I cannot divulge due to an NDA. I think it is safe to
say they were using more than 3.65. Being UPR it wouldn't be a
violation to state that they have a deep corporate culture since
they are an enormous company.
This is purely speculation, but it may be that they successfully
determined what they wanted to know. So in that respect, if it is
true they are shutting down, they may have decided that the
miniscule profit turned by even a wildly successful WISP is a
fraction of a drop in the bucket in comparison to the kind of money
they make in a month. If you have ever looked at their SEC filings
you know what I mean. In the end, it may have served as more of a
distraction than anything else. All of that is purely speculation as
I was only involved in the pre deployment stage.

They sure did have grand plans, but I think their approach was a
little too corporate based on the RFQ I saw a year and a half ago.

58 Mbps is a lot in a band with a total of 50 MHz and
where channel size is typically 10 MHz. It’s also a
strangely specific speed.____
