You would want to do more than an ohmmeter test.  

Power it up and see if you get –48 between the ground lug and the – leg.

The 820 has continuity between the + DC power terminal and the ground lug.

  yes but if the psu has a case ground and the 820 has a case ground and the 
two have a ground path, you will short.
