With the 3000L at 29V you can power it from an SM with an Aux port. I'm
guessing that's the underlying reason.

That must've been an early spec sheet... it also say 802.3at

Yeah, 24v is nice sometimes, but it would've been a lot nicer if it
just worked on 22-56v, like the ePMP 1000. It's also annoying that the
3000 is 48v only, and the 3000L is 24v only, which makes it more
complicated if you put up a 3000L and need to upgrade to a full 3000
later on... or if you want to change a 1000 that's running on 48v for
a 3000L.

I think I would have noticed it.....but I'll look at it tomorrow

existence or nonexistence of an SFP on the actual 3000L.
Currently it is Schrodinger's SFP.

Where? It says it has a 100/1000BaseT ethernet interface:

Erm - it also says it only accepts 29V PoE. The ePMP 3000
(non-L) supports 56V. Did they really make the ePMP3kL only
support 24-29V? If so, that is pretty dumb.

Are you seeing Ethernet problems with fiber
connections as well, or just the copper? We put
up an EPMP 3000 early last year. It had
Ethernet problems for about the first 3 or 4
weeks of putting it up, but has seemed fine
since then. This was on Copper connection. I
was just having Ethernet problems in general,
1g, 100m, 10m. It would instantly negotiate the
speed, but have lots of packet loss. I
attributed it to corrosion on the Cat5 pins that
summer temperature fluctuations cleared up.

Just a test. Test failed.

Technically you wouldn't see any performance

What's the distance of the links?
