Most building automation revolves around a couplee of standard protocols/networks.
Lighting is often DALI. You can get DALI controllable ballast, controllers, etc. If you've been in a biggish building and the lighting controls are digital, it's almost certainly a DALI system. When you get to HVAC, it's less standardized. Some of the stuff is Modbus, some is just based on contact closures, and so on with other interfaces. Sone modern devices also have MQQT support. The magic is in the controllers... since I'm able to roll my own I haven't spent a lot of time with the commercial solutions. - Forrest On Thu, Jun 5, 2025, 3:31 PM Mike Hammett <[email protected]> wrote: > We'd probably be building from scratch since nothing we have now is > intelligent, and then offering that solution as a service to others. > > > > > -- > Mike Hammett > > ----- Original Message ----- > From: "Steve Jones" <[email protected]> > To: "AnimalFarm Microwave Users Group" <[email protected]> > Sent: Thursday, June 5, 2025 4:23:24 PM > Subject: Re: [AFMUG] Building Automation > > > > put all your systems details into grok.
