I have lurked on this list for..., well forever. I started my wireless
business career back in 2001 and recently retired from the ISP world
last october.
I know this isn't really related to wireless internet but has anyone
built out a comprehensive monitoring system using HomeAssistant?
<https://www.home-assistant.io/> It seems to me someone in this bunch o'
genius's has got to be using it. Yes, it's a diy setup but isn't that
what we all have been doing?
I've been using it on a daily basis in two houses for over 5 years.
I've have ping sensors, custom snmp sensors, hundreds of integrations
for IOT.
Of course, if you're a Zabbix expert, there's that.

One thing these MSP sales-training things are teaching me is that A) You ha=
ve to thoroughly believe you have a superior product and B)
Don't get into =
technical details unless required - just fix their pain points or tell them=
what their pain points are, then fix them. One should be building a homoge=
neous solution that actually delivers a better experience, rather than sell=
ing ala carte that is disjointed.
That applies to ISP stuff as well, though ISP stuff is less complicated.

just imagine, someone has their AC/Heat, Audio system, phone system, etc al=
l in your cloud, they don't want to use you anymore due to price, just shut=
off their AC/heat, phone system, etc.. I know people that have done that!!=

put all your systems details into grok. Will probably spit out a good start=
er, maybe even an existing integration solution. If not, dump the API white=
sheets from each product in and have grok write you a controller=20

retrofit on this stuff would be a bear since all the involved systems would=

Are you taking like hvac or lighting or....?=20
I run a building management system in the packetflux manufacturing facility=
but that's just so the correct resources (compressor, N2 generator, supple=
mental ventilation, etc. ) can be started based on the equipment being used=
. We also do some heat/hvac management so we don't have multiple systems co=
mpete with each other and so we can use the excess heat we produce, but thi=
s last is an ongoing work in progress.=20
