My feeling is a bit more nuanced WRT data centers and power consumption. They should bring along their own power to supplement their drain on the grid and perhaps attenuated by the current grid peak load.

I think many states are adjusting taxes on EVs because they (currently) don't really pay their share of road maintenance.

However, I think the sonsumption of charging EVs is a bit distorted. 80% of the people I know with EVs charge them off their home solar almost all the time.
