FYI, I recommend leaving a spare Ethernet cable plugged into the router. I used to insist that people do a speedtest from a wired computer, but it's becoming very common for people to say everything is WiFi.

I never did, the SM has enough to control what you need to from the provider side.

I prefer a demarcation at the SM/ONT and let the customer be responsible for their side of their network.

If I had done managed router then I would have gotten double the calls for everyones NAT to their Xbox and filtering etc.

What this industry needs is a way for the consumer to know for themselves if their provider is the network issue, or their router.

I'm working on an app/site for that right now that they can use their phone/device to tell them if it's their problem or the providers.
