This is a strong point to be made. I take the stance of less control and being more proactive. If we as in U.S were to place armed guards in every school and the guards being US veterans I believe we would have safer schools and add jobs for our veterans that would appreciate and have pride in protecting our youth and educational system. Every day there is some fool out there who thinks he can take on the system though violence instead of trying to divert that energy towards a voice of change. Most of us that are veterans here understand that it is our duty to uphold our way of living and to protect it. So, when tested they are the ones who will take that test.

that is my 2 Cents!

By the time police get to you then you are dead. It IS freedom to have a gun at home. Keep the gun locked up and the ammunition kept locked up separately.

Looking at this with a foreign view I can't understand this "gun love" in US. It is not all about the criminals or idiots. Just look at the statistics for accidents with weapons. The only way to save lifes is to be very restrictive. If someone wants to shoot he can go to a shooting club and leave the weapon there. It is not freedom to have a gun at home. It is silly esp. with kids around. You can't avoid killing with banning weapons but you can reduce it. If I need a weapon I call for police or security.
