back in the late 60;s when Mexico installed a microwave relay to bring service from DF to the states for 68 Olympics they used mountain tops for relays. A young engineer named Jorge Saad saw an opportunity and designed a TV rebroadcast network to provide service to tons of villages and towns in Chihuahua where mountains blocked OTA signals....similar to what we do in southern NM in places like Ruidoso and Cloudcroft. It went well and the money he made allowed him to open Syscom and Epcom. If you go to IWEC, they usually take a complete aisle and are Kenwood's largest international distributor worldwide. So I guess there is money to be made from TV pie.
