CRI is a pretty big deal for LEDS. I am currently working on a high bay LED replacement for very high (1000 Watt Metal Halide) replacements. Have been working on this for a year so don't hold your breath.

Something else, color temperature may range from 2700K to 5000K, but when I
was shopping for fluorescent bulbs, I was told to look at the CRI number on
the package (Color Rendering Index) which is not at all the same as color

I don't know if CRI is a good measure when it comes to LED bulbs.  In a
fluorescent, I suspect high CRI means having a mix of phosphors rather than
just 1 or 2.

If you want an example of really crappy CRI, think sodium lights.

T8s give off about 100 lumens per watt.  Really good LEDS may be 120 or 140.

So yes they are a bit better but it is not enormous.  Perhaps 30% savings at
most.  But never having to change a bulb again is a fantastic reason for
doing this.

I don't buy the reduction in heat load too much.  If you have two bulbs
putting out 100 lumens per watt, you are giving off the same amount of heat
either way.  Again a modest reduction but not a big reason for spending the
money, just a bit of gravy.

I can't tell you specifics, but we have a friend that converted a hardware
store from fluorescent to LED. it was part of a remodel, so I think he did a
wholesale replacement without having to retrofit any fixtures.

He has claimed that it is an enormous amount of power savings (he owns a
total of 5 hardware stores), as he is comparing power consumption at this
one new store relative to his other stores. One bonus that he didn't
originally factor into the comparison is the change in the heat load.
Because the LEDs are contributing fewer BTUs to the ambient environment, he
is also saving on air conditioning.
