T8s give off about 100 lumens per watt. Really good LEDS may be 120 or 140. So yes they are a bit better but it is not enormous. Perhaps 30% savings at most. But never having to change a bulb again is a fantastic reason for doing this.

I don't buy the reduction in heat load too much. If you have two bulbs putting out 100 lumens per watt, you are giving off the same amount of heat either way. Again a modest reduction but not a big reason for spending the money, just a bit of gravy.

hardware store from fluorescent to LED. it was part of a remodel, so I
think he did a wholesale replacement without having to retrofit any

this one new store relative to his other stores. One bonus that he

environment, he is also saving on air conditioning.
