UBNT doesn't yet have 11 GHz in their AirLink tool, but it's in progress. http://community.ubnt.com/t5/AirLink/Can-we-get-11Ghz-Aifiber/m-p/1724951#U1724951
I'm not sure of the accuracy of the AirLink tool. For a given obstruction-free path that's 8.2 km long with 2' dishes, I can't supposedly get better than 6x modulation. I've always just done rough engineering on Link Planner and then submitted to the vendor of the other product what I wanted to do and have them prepare a report for me. ----- Mike Hammett Intelligent Computing Solutions Midwest Internet Exchange The Brothers WISP ----- Original Message ----- From: "Ken Hohhof" <[email protected]> To: [email protected] Sent: Saturday, November 19, 2016 10:30:12 PM Subject: Re: [AFMUG] [WISPA Members] Who will have AF-11X First? So what are people using to do path calcs for AF-11x? Every licensed link I've done has been engineered based on detailed path calcs taking into account rain region, to achieve the desired throughput with the desired number of nines. I assume all of you have done the same. Less expensive radios mean more people can do licensed links. But they should also learn how to engineer those links. Is Ubiquiti doing path calcs on request like Trango? Are they providing a DIY tool like Cambium and Mimosa? -----Original Message----- From: Af [mailto:[email protected]] On Behalf Of Faisal Imtiaz Sent: Saturday, November 19, 2016 9:57 PM To: [email protected] Subject: Re: [AFMUG] [WISPA Members] Who will have AF-11X First? > But that's the UBNT way. You say this like this is a Bad Thing..... in Business it is called Expanding The Market Base ! and it is actually a very good thing for any company / industry to be able to do. Regards.
