This makes me think of the Skypilot thing where they switched to using UBNT
clients. Unless that was only talking to the 2.4 AP instead of the mesh sector
deal. I don't remember.

This is capitalism in its finest form. Cambium just upped the bar
substantially. The market had a very serious issue, and they solved it, while
still generating substantial revenue. Im curious what their profit per hardware
unit sold is compared to the profit per license, with no real liability.
Hopefully this will force ubnt to really focus efforts on real sync that
actually works and get an actual legitimate support channel. Or even better,
sell their radios preloaded with the EPMP load and work out a discount for AP
licenses through them for their customers. Mikrotik I assume is just saying
"meh, our products are good"

This is pretty neat with the whole Mikrotik thing, basically you can run a
Mikrotik CPE network and be GPS synchronized then...

I tuned in to the last half of the webinar, Mikrotik is down the road, BUT is
in the works. From a 100% Mikrotik network that is a time/cash saver.

we have been installing epmp SMs to ubnt backhauls on small sites by shutting

Compatible doesn't mean "same". Software for an Intel 386 is compatible with
an Intel Core isn't it?

Point taken though...ePMP is still 802.11n.

They found out that their new ePMP CPEs use the same hardware as the oldest
UBNT-Atheros-Crap. So no porting problem. Just install the same SW.

you have to wonder if at some point cambium hired marsellus wallace and some
hard, pipe-hittin' people, who'll go to work on the ubnt managers here with a
pair of pliers and a blow torch to get hardware access
