Be careful and disconnect the side going out of the building

DO NOT clip in and use both sides of the pair you choose

Think of it as a HOME run cat5....

From one device directly to the other

You can pull bridging clips and connect to the 66 or 110 on each side

Yes, These devices work great I installed them for years (another life before wireless)

High noise is usually caused by outdoor plant side of the pair you choose

or can be run too close to lighting or electrical

You can use a butt set and see if it is noisy after you isolate the pair you

want to use.

Josh if you need talk through give me a call

I wonder how conservative the rate selection is....probably vendor dependent I suppose.

Found this chart on Wikipedia. Looks like 30a is a larger channel with the same tx power. So just like with wireless, you would increase the power density on your channel by using the smaller channel size, and you'd eliminate at least a couple db worth of noise Seems to me if I didn't need the throughput then my connection would be a little more robust on the smaller channel.

They train up just like the old dial up modems. Just can’t hear it.

There must be a minimum SNR for each speed.
I wonder if there's a bridge like that with automatic rate selection....seems like a feature you'd want.

And what if I have high line noise?

no 30a is better as long as you have low line noise

Would 17 MHz be more reliable than 30 MHz?

the main thing to look for with a VDSL2 converter bridge
pair is, will it do the 30a profile (30MHz). Depending on
how noisy your lines are or loop length you may need to
flip a switch to change between 17a profile or 30a. But
ideally 30a profile should actually have slightly more
bandwidth that is required to bridge 100BaseTX at line rate.

I'm looking for something I believe was discussed
here multiple times. I have old copper going
between a few stories in the building and I need
to get bandwidth up there. Isn't there some box
that people have used that will run with 2 wire or
any kind of wire essentially and then you have
                100baseT?
