For 10gig go fiber. 10gig on copper comes with too many caveats IMO.
If you're going to learn new tools and techniques anyway, might as well
be fiber.

As an update on my earlier message. We spent the better part of two
days terminating lots of Cat6a shielded outdoor burial cable. We used
this because we couldn’t get pre-terminated Cat6a, only Cat6 at a
reasonable price (although we may not have spent enough time looking).
These are for longer runs were we are worried about the length
limitation of Cat6 for 10gig. All I can say is what a huge pain these
Cat6a ends are. The loader bars are flimsy as heck, and don’t
typically line up the wires well enough. We got better as the days
went on, but still saw a failure rate of 10-25% terminating these
cables. On normal Cat5e terminations, we are surprised if we get 1 in
100 that are bad. We are looking for something different in the
future. We will continue to buy pre-terminated for runs under 50
meters, and if we can find some decent pricing on Cat6a pre-terminated
we are heading in that direction. Way too much time spent putting
cable ends on…….

We are just starting to install a number of towers where we are using
Mimosa equipment and have run Cat6a for those where the cabinets
won't be on top of the tower. For the ones that are on top of the
tower we ordered pre-terminated cables. Just too much hassle for the
cost. For those where we had to run cable to the top we ordered new
quiktex ends since they use the regular old crimpers. We couldn't
find any ends to work with our Ez rj45 crimper. We will be
terminating those cables the next few days.
We do have Mimosa equipment installed with Cat5e cable and it works
fine now. We initially had issues with the Ethernet ports dropping
and replaced POEs and were considering recabling. However fixing the
RF link interference issues and some firmware upgrades have really
stabilized those Ethernet ports now. We haven't had an Ethernet port
go down in 10 months since we did that work. (I am currently knocking
on wood. 🙂)

I bought some Shireen Cat6 to try. The OD of the insulation on the
Shireen Cat6 (and other Cat6 cables I've found so far) make it
unusable with the EZ-RJ45 plugs. So, I ended up purchasing new plugs,
and should have purchased a new crimper.
I later asked here about using Cat6 with Mimosa and got a fairly
resounding "Cat5e is enough" at the time. In the end, it seemed like
a giant pain for any spot other than having great interference.

We recently received a recommendation from Mimosa to replace our
