I'd say that's a shitty expectation to place upon an employee. They're fired. End of story.
It's shitty for morale for everyone around that person if they stick it out. Serious downer. I watched a single father sitting and crying at his job for half the shift after getting his slip (he had started a week after me - was just a summer job at a sawmill for me, but everything for him). When that shitty ass company laid me off the next week, fortunately the ass doing the first round of firing also got fired and his replacement waited for the end of the shift to let us go. I can't imagine why an employer would care. You want him gone, he's gone. Probably less hassle. -Steve D On Thu, Aug 17, 2017 at 10:45 PM, Matt Hoppes < [email protected]> wrote: > I'm curious on opinions on a scenario... > > Now, the way this plays out is somewhat like the AT&T call center from a > few weeks ago, but ignore that... > > If an employee is told their last day is today, please complete the tasks > assigned to you and then go on your way..... > > BUT... the employee refuses to complete any of the jobs assigned to them > and instead immediately walks off the job telling you "find someone else to > do those tasks, I need to go look for work". > > Did the employee get fired... or quit their job? >
