It works fine here. Problem free(ish). Those that want to donate can cover the
costs. Pauls been very reliable, and never needs a snickers so little to no
risk of an "i quit"

Id say we should just have a swear jar, but i dont have that kind of money.

One option would be to stick half the fund drive into something with crypto
coin shennanigans, cash out 1/2 biannually. But then taxes somewhere...

Having it third party hosted in the manner that it is keeps the list outside
any individuals attitude, which is pretty good idea. Sure paul can cancel an
account, but he cant just power down a vm, throttle a connection, not feel like
dealing with a blacklist issue, withdraw vm host resources, etc, not that i
think he would.

Not directed at you mike, just a generalization.

Maybe pimp some friday spam access to some non list member vendors for a fee,
but we all know, once they come see this place, theyll join up. This is the
best cult this side of waco.

  These guys:

Perhaps they can. I just don’t want to make a change I will regret. And I
do not want to have to personally be the mechanic.

I agree. Toss some money at him, I'm sure we can spare it

Yep... this always comes up. I think the consensus has always been that
it's easier for those of us who are willing, to just chip in occasionally and
keep it as is, then to mess with what's been working well.

Seems like this same conversation came up last year. Folks, if you
don't want to pay, propose doing the work. Seems like it's well worth 100

way less enjoyable, but necessary to keep peace at home...

Then is a pledge drive needed?

Blacklists are the recipients problems. Not the mailing list owners
problem - as long as nothing shady is going on.

          What is SES? Amazon?

That seems overkill for a mailing list.

              Support of what???

What the heck costs that much?

Mailman takes all of 10 minutes to install and just lives after
that.
