Matt, Some religions say that our souls or essences are instantiated in this life from other worlds, so the better word might be "transbeingism"? IOW we were uploaded here. Then you might ask how come we don't remember anything. I'd say maybe our memories are stored offline in another location. You just don't know. We do know that distant memories from this world are encoded in DNA. Much of "you" is from other lifetimes experiences of the multi-agent human intelligence. And that human intelligence passed on might be quite diverse, this "human" form might be temporary. As there might be for a future AGI "people zoos" there can be people zoos from the past as a historical timeline of our consciousness carrying essence from being to being. It could be an endless chain of evolutionary hybrids and we're each a people zoo in ourselves DNA-wise. IOW there might a little of Noah's Ark in all of us :)

How many politicians do you know that will say anything at all that is the least bit controversial? That said, I really doubt that there will be a "Jesus Singularity". Religion does not have anything to say about modern transhumanism. It says your soul will go to heaven or hell.
