Our own cultural belief traps, our own indoctrination and our
specialization on tiny subsets of science and reality already represent
a gigantic opaque wall across the future ... you don't need no AGI to
tell you that much. Most Singularitarians are horribly biased and full
of belief traps. Ben Goertzel might be one of the less indoctrinated
people in the community ... at least that's my impression after reading
his books (most notably the "Cosmist Manifesto") and watching some of
his interviews but there is just so much more to consider than what the
majority is talking and thinking about.
It would be interesting to see a discussion between Ben and a few other
people who are doing research on metaphysics and unified theories and
even some spiritual people or Buddhists so we get a more holistic view
instead of the old boring purely "raw" intelligence and economy centered
view?
