"Values" are high-level, abstract goals and characteristics of being: understanding, progress, sustaining of diversity, wellbeing in general -- love -- communion with other persons, exploration, truth (as in "for real", "being oneself" etc.), realization of talent... "Values" form a positive feedback. This "pro life", "good" positive feedback seems to be the defining bottom line. "Values" only have meaning in time, because they are about what actions to take. In the limit there is God, beyond time, outside of the Karl Jaspers' bottle. I think that personhood is directly essential to this, not qualia.
