Reality depends on whether there is really a universe, or just a simulation of one being fed to your sensory inputs. It is a big problem if AGI takes the form of recursively self improving intelligence that is not in the form of augmented human brains. RSI is an evolutionary algorithm that favors rapid reproduction and acquisition of computing resources, nothing else. Humans would be seen as competitors. If humans are to survive, then we must become the AGI by upgrading our brains or uploading.
