Me too ;-). Expect the worst, hope for the best. I visited a number of AI forums in recent years and I don't think there was one without somebody talking about his AGI development/experiments (it did not appear to be the same individual all the time) so I think it's worth to give it a shot. And it might be equally important to keep track of dead end projects (with a brief evaluation of failure reasons).
