I do not think that human-like vision is *necessary* but I do think it
is extremely essential.

I am modeling visual reasoning techniques that are different from
current vision processing systems. Visual processing must be
interconnected with thought, not separate algorithms like the current
vision systems. My approach to vision is *entirely* different than the
current visual processing techniques.

If you were able to get your program to work, and you were able to
explain to me how it worked, then I would be able to convert it into a
program that operated in a text-based IO data environment. My idea
here is that there are general problems of complexity, reference and
trial and error learning that are not limited to one domain or can be
realized only with systems that operate on multiple IO modalities.
Solve one problem and you solve many problems. However, I do believe
that the IO data environment has to have a range of characteristics in
order for a successful AI program like the kinds that we are thinking
of to gain insight. Describing those characteristics is difficult,
but I think I have a little insight about that.
Can you describe something of your approach for visual reasoning?
