Good points Teresa, If there are still PDY students who do not have a
placement for next year, or if there are accredited sites who still need a
PDY student, or could place another student, they can log on to
www.radiography.com.au, go to Employment - Positions Vacant and register
there needs. I will then provide a list of the sites to the students still
looking, and a list of the students still looking to the managers of the
accredited sites. In that way they all should be covered.
In my 15 years of experience the rural hospitals do not go out of their way
to attract allied health staff to their towns, and they have orders from the
top end of the health service not to go outside the award provisions. The
exception would be the incentives they have in place for Rural Doctors and
their families but even that does not seem to attract enough Doctors. Leo J
