Wheelbase has a very large effect on ride. It is much of the reason that a
limo rides softer than a Mini. Those are the extremes. The GTV6 and Milano
are in the middle of the extremes, but the fact is that wheelbase does
affect ride. Longer = softer, shorter = harsher. The shorter wheelbase will
also give sharper handling.

I don't think the wheelbase difference makes them 'different animals
entirely'.  The front and rear suspension geometries are identical.  These
cars have a lot more in common than differences, they're not different
animals.  And I certainly don't think a shorter wheelbase results in a
harsher ride.
