Michael and Ken, How to replace or hook up supply hose to 164 clutch master cylinder. I also remove front seat to gain access and use a 8mm threaded stud and hook two hoses together. Here is how to make the job easier. If you are still going to reuse old hose first disconnect it from clutch master supply nipple on brake reservoir and thread in a 8mm double end threaded spare exhaust stud or cut off end of a long threaded 8mm or 5/16" bolt and attach another new piece of hose to it. Now pull hose from clutch master cylinder end into work area under the dash. Hook it up to clutch master fluid input nipple. Now pull hose back into engine compartment. You may need a helper to pull while you guide clutch master into place. Here is how I did it when I had to replace bad supply hose. I got new hose from Pelican Parts Co. http://www.alfabb.com/bb/forums/164-168-1991-1995/58650-master-cylinder-remo te-reservoir-hose.html Alfisto Steve In a message dated 2/20/2014 2:34:22 A.M. The absolute worst part of the process in my limited experience is to re-attach the hose to the cylinder after mounting it. Granted, I have once had a miserable time replacing the pivot bolt for the pedal, but the hose is my sticking point. Does anyone know whether it is reasonable to pull the hose through the firewall(s) to attach it prior to mounting the cylinder on the firewall? I have always been nervous about being able to thread it back through. Perhaps I could tie some cord to the end of the hose prior to pulling it into the foot well, to aid me in pulling it back through ? Suggestions welcome. Don't fear telling me I'm an idiot. A squeaky clutch master in my 164 Super led me to purchase the part. It is not yet installed. I once converted an LS from automatic to manual. So, I have threaded the hose through the firewall. However, that work was most likely done with the engine out. Some years earlier, I pinched a nerve in my neck from standing on my head under my Milano dash, unbolting the brake master. For one month I had massive, debilitating pain. So, one bit of advice is to remove the front seat for easier access to the under dash.
