I don't have direct experience with any of the new switches, because I put
starter relays in all of my older Alfas.B So, whichever switch you end up
with, take the opportunity to add a starter relay while you have things
apart.B The new switch will last forever.B Some times, adding a starter relay
can prolong the life of an iffy switch, but yours sounds pretty far gone.B
Still, since you should be installing a relay anyhow, can't hurt to do that
first and see if it helps.B bs

Subject: [alfa] Spider ignition switch
I fear a worn out ignition switch on my 75 Spider. Intermittently, there is
no power at all; occasionally, there is power to dash, fuel pump, etc., then
when starter begins to turn everything goes dead. All replacement switches
have different wiring than my car and prices range from $140 to $189
(ouch!). Anyone with experience with these replacements? Advice? BTW, new
battery and all grounds and connections are good.
Thanks in advance,
Ben
