Hi Mike. I'm Hamit Alexander Campos Alvarez. I'll help with question 1. The answer is saddly a resounding no. Here's why. There's no synth on the machine. This isn't like the victors PTR2 and stuff where you have a synth. This is just a british lady Olympus had sit in a studio and speak most of what the menus are. This goes back to the DS 30 40 and 50. They had a bunch of WMA files of her and some how these were tied to menus. Now they have baked these and the newer ones into the firmware some how.

Hello everyone,

My name is Mike Busboom and although I don’t own much audio recording
equipment, I recently acquired an Olympus DM720 and would like to become more
proficient at making good recordings with it.

I have two questions:

1. I am totally blind, so I really love the fact that the recorder has voice
guidance. However, when going through recordings I have made with the unit,
none of the titles is voiced. Is there any way to enable voice guidance when
going through recordings I have made with the unit and if not, is there a
work-around?

2. Many years ago, I used binaural microphones and was very impressed with the
quality of my recordings. However, I would need to buy a new pair of binaural
mics and am wondering who manufactures them these days, or have they been
surpassed by something better. I must admit that some of the recordings I have
made with the Olympus’s internal microphones are impressive in their own right.

My best to all of you,

Mike
