Farfalla and farfallone both mean butterfly; I suspect farfallone
refers to a big butterfly. Do we have an Italian speaker who can
comment on that?
The suffix -one means big, as in minestra, soup, minestrone, big
soup. Big butterfly.
Non piu andrai farfallone amoroso, Figaro referring to himself.
Literally it is a "big butterfly or moth," but figuratively,
according to my best Italian dictionary, it means "blunder, howler,"
which shows that Figaro's comment is doppio senso.
