   I don't know how familiar you are with the radio, but you need to have
the TNC on and at least receiving on the 70cm band (D inside a black
square) and TNC mode to APRS12. I'd played around with just turning on APRS
with a TeleMega before, found it didn't "just work" and left it at that. It
made perfect sense once I thought about switching the TNC bands tonight;
I'm usually on 2m for APRS in order to show up on the US network.

    Neat thought: you could set your radio to Rx on 70cm and then possibly
Tx the packets back out on the 2m band. Quick-and-dirty 2m APRS system
location track for rockets. (Or high-altitude balloons in some of my
cases.) I didn't dig around much in the TeleGPS APRS packet info, but the
icon is currently an airplane. I usually like to have mine set to the
balloon or rocket symbols.
