Hello Ambit people,

there were 44 e-mails in my inbox, so I haven't diligently read them all
yet, just had a quick look, however, by way of an introduction ...

I'm Cath Whippey, living in Glasgow and back and forth to Orchardton House,
an artists' community in Dumfries and Galloway where I have connections and
have created some work - including 'OTV' a temporary public art work in the
form of a tv station in collaboration with artist Chris Helson at Orchardton
Arts Festival, as a DGAA commission in a cafe in Castle Douglas and at the
2ND artists' Symposium in Bourne Suliniwo in Poland; A Commission to make
new work for 'Subverted Suburbia' a touring show from Dumfries and Galloway
Council; and new animation pieces 'Lip' and 'Wig and noses and ...' made at
the 'US Arts Festival' this August. You can see these last two at
<http://www.orchardton.org/art.html>

I completed The Bristol Animation Course in June this year, a three month
course were I specialised in learning traditional 3D animation skills - I
came to animation about two years ago working on a self taught basis, my
first pieces involving using knitted animals 'Bear wears his new bear
outfit' and 'Bloodbath', you may have seen these at the 'Subverted Suburbia'
or Transmission members shows last year.

I'm currently working on a pilot collaborative animation project with artist
Jo Hodges, a small group of pupils in a new community school and Linda
Mallett, the public art development officer in North Ayrshire.

My work over the past couple of years work has been video based, live action
and animation, exploring transformation and body modification. Super hero
and special powers, jekkyl and hyde, battles of good and evil are all
continuing interests.

So, cheers for now,

Cath.
