I think it's worth remembering that in addition to what mike flagged up 
about nn's input onto that list, a signioficant part of the nn/antiorp 
strategy is the use of spam tatics simply as a way of advertising the 
Max/Nato products that they/she sells....

As some market research suggests, the proliferation of maillist visibility 
is often the best way of advertising online.
