... just by way of introduction:

My name is Oren Lieberman, expat american (for 12 or so years), most
recently a resident of Germany (Berlin) for 10 years, and currently
find myself in Glasgow (for the last 2 years) as a lecturer in
Architecture at Strathclyde University. My interests are varied;
however, crossovers with ambitters might be found in my
investigations into the relevance of underlying structures,
metaphors, metonyms, etc. in electric space to an understanding of,
making of, and learning through (education) of haptic space. These
include concepts such as Levels Of Detail, object-orientation,
'tagging'. I have been most recently looking at the use of moving
diagrams as analogous to clusterings of learning concepts. In
addition, and my ears perked up in Eric's talk at the recent CCA
conference, I have been looking at the notion of 'phatic space' for
the last 5 or so years (particularly in architecture), and am
currently trying to put a paper out on it with regard to both the
realms of the haptic as well as the digital.

I feel that conferences afford possibilities of collaboration with
interesting people, and look forward to continuing some of the
conversations begun at the CCA. I do however, share Gair's recently
posted point that

"Perhaps at next talk it might be an idea to change the ratio of
discussion a bit.
instead of people talking at length about their work and then trying
frantically to fit in responses/overview/ etc, what about very short
individual presentations and more time in a relaxed way to go into
ramifications."

I would be very interested in speaking to people who might be
interested in the (digital) arts- practices::education::networkStuff
relationship ... or any other contiguous area of work ...

Regards,

Oren
