...following on from mike's comments about syndicate and aspirations for ambit
a few people have mentioned to me the "no tech questions" restriction...mike
also brought this up - skill share. What do people think about this - do you
want to be able to talk tech?

This restriction was included because of conversations before the list started
with people at stills who were frustrated by often being called by people at
home/studio/office trying to do something in whatever software and were stuck
so phoned them for technical support. The concern I got from them was that
ambit could become an extension of that...however after conversations with
others and having the list in action I wonder if this is too limiting for
people? I realised that it could be a really useful place to find people who
can programme/edit/etc - endless skills...! Would appreciate some feedback on
this.

I plan to put together a couple of web pages for ambit with info such as:
a list of participants - you lurkers will be noticed one day!
intro's
url's

thought this would be good so that new people joining the list can check out
who's on and what they say about themselves (also to prod them lurkers) and
the url's should hopefully help people see lots of work each other are doing.
I know many of you have already sent urls but I think with the big surge of
mail at the beginning you won't have had time to look at them all! Could you
all send me just your url's again? Would be quicker than pulling them out of
mails and I've lost most of this years in a big computer crash anyway. Just
send them to my email though as I think this might clog the list up.

I'm all for face to face meetings, I think there're really important. Saying
that I'm going to be away in basel from jan - june but will be back and forth
to ed. Would welcome any interesting people to go and look up in the area
though and I will send info about interesting places that I find. Could always
meet up in basel anytime too!

Bev
