...........but how many of us bought the product ?

personally i liked the texts and refreshing approach to language and
was intrigued by the episodes - i didnt consider it to be a form of
advertising - (forgive me if this sounds knaive) i actualy found the
texts profound in their poetry and playfullness - beauty is in the
eye of the beholder

and then again its worth considering that perhaps those that were
most resistant / damming were perhaps those with most at stake
(controllers of major media festivals/busy academics) who indeed -
did need to professionally command the ewaves - for their own
festival/research (product) promotion

fairly regularly an old friend sends me some 'lightweight' jokey
political comment - if im trying to hit a deadline/stay focussed/be
in control - the mail gets trashed, other times it might get read and
raise a chuckle/bring something to my attention (remember the plight
of women under taliban rule circulars 18 months ago) we all have to
suffer this from time time - but in the gaps and jokes meaning often
lies - it always makes me slighty prickly when people try and curtail
dialogues for using inappropriate forms

dosnt 'gossip' have a political history ?

sorry for going on about this - i was pretty busy when it went off
at the time on syndiacte and have an opportunity to unpack much of it
