To quote Alex Salmond (SNP MP) in yesterday's Guardian: "People should treat e-mails like seaside postcards. Write whatever you like, but don't be surprised if somebody else reads it"
This was in response to a leaked EU report on Echelon, the e-mail surveillance system run by the US/UK/Canada/Australia. I can sympathise if people don't want their personal details online: unfortunately the archive we are using at the moment cannot be edited retrospectively. If there is something you'd rather keep private, perhaps posting it to an e-mail mailing list is not the best idea. This is social space, and the archive is most definately publicly accessible.
