Dear All,

Following on from Gair's email about yet another new, new media festival
(and previous discussion on the list) this month's topic is new media
festivals and specifically if this is something that Scotland should have as
an annual event?

There were previously events such as New Visions and the Edinburgh Film &
Video Festival, more focused on short video and film (Chris might want to
say something about their amalgamation of sorts and having been part of both
at various times)...yet now we have no such platform although there is a
substantial amount of work of work going on here in this area. Do people
feel there are enough venues and opportunities to show new media work
specifically in Scotland without creating such a specific platform?

Any reports from previous interesting (and not so interesting) new media
festivals/events would be most welcome too.

Bev
