Perhaps another idea would be showing the splash screen by default, but in the Preferences, adding a "Show splash-screen on startup" option that can be disabled/enabled, similar to what the Amarok music player does. In Amarok, the splash, (when enabled) can also be closed by simply clicking on it each time Amarok loads. Registering aMSN with Open Usability ( http://openusability.org ) may also be a good idea so we have some usability experts looking at many aspects of aMSN and giving feedback on what they think could be improved. ~Lee > > On Sun, Oct 29, 2006 at 04:53:12PM +0100, NoWhereMan wrote: > > > > ----- Original Message ----- > > From: <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> > > To: "Mailing list for developers and everyone helping AMSN" > > <[email protected]> > > Sent: Sunday, October 29, 2006 4:10 PM > > Subject: Re: [Amsn-devel] about the splash > > > > > > > if we do have a splash screen, make sure its one that you can hide by > > > clicking (maybe even have a little "hide" link on it) or that other > > > apps can go over, because splash screens that stay on top of > > > everything are FUCKING ANNOYING and I would hate for amsn to become > > > something people hate to run because ity has a FUCKING ANNOYING splash > > > screen. > > > > > > Okay as long as thats clear :P > > > > that was *FUCKING* clear, LOL > > btw, the click-to-hide thing it's ok for me (if there's a text or there's > > not, it's the same, for me) > > > > > > ------------------------------------------------------------------------- > > Using Tomcat but need to do more?
