Don (and everyone), Let me try and reply to the whole thread at once.
1) I'm surprised to find .ac in the IANA list, because it's not in ISO 3166, and I thought IANA's stated policy was only to include ISO 3166 names as geographic TLDs. Of course, I'll include it in the next version of analog. 2) Of course I'm happy to include .biz, .info etc. as well. Sorry, I should have done that before. 3) Yes, some former TLDs exist for analysing legacy logfiles. 4) If you have any corrections to the organisation levels, let me know. 5) Now, as to including a more refined algorithm for calculating organisations. First, I realise (and state quite openly in the docs) that some TLDs don't have a fixed level for organisations. Usually I choose the higher number, although sometimes (e.g. Canada) I don't, if most of the organisations are at the smaller level. BTW, yes, the kludge of chopping off the (presumed) hostname does seem to help. I don't want to put subdomains back in the domains file. If you look at the "What's New" in the docs, you'll see that I rejected this approach in version 0.92beta. :-) I would consider allowing the user to give exceptions to the normal organisation levels for domains in the configuration file. It's not a high priority for me at the moment, but if someone writes a patch, I'll consider it and probably include it. -- Stephen Turner, Cambridge, UK http://homepage.ntlworld.com/adelie/stephen/ "This is Henman's 8th Wimbledon, and he's only lost 7 matches."
