So it seems Google's position puts into question the usefulness of the
entire maps API? The June 08 deal with TeleAtlas reportedly includes
Android. At that point it was already clear that there was substantial
interest by independent developers in the platform. Except for running
the standard maps app, and some trivial third party apps, I wonder
what said agreement is worth if Google does not offer standard
licensing terms or a process to reach an agreement on an individual
basis to allow the development of relevant apps.
