Some will. Some will believe that free distribution and an ad-based 
model will work better for them. Some might try both, as somebody else 
on this thread suggested (free-with-ads or upgrade to $$$ premium 
edition that is ad-free).

The only initial hangup was that the official Android Marketplace isn't 
supporting paid-for applications at the outset, only freely distributed 
ones. Now that there are a few other distribution channels popping up, 
plus the possibility of setting up your own storefront, this barrier is 
less of an issue.
