Some will. Some will believe that free distribution and an ad-based model will work better for them. Some might try both, as somebody else on this thread suggested (free-with-ads or upgrade to $$$ premium edition that is ad-free). The only initial hangup was that the official Android Marketplace isn't supporting paid-for applications at the outset, only freely distributed ones.
