I think you missed my point. I don't believe everything should be in the 
hands of non-technical consumers, but I do believe in making apps 
publicly available for testing by anyone who wants to.

If you believe the consumer realm isn't the place for Alphas or Betas 
then I'm surprised your getting involved with Android given Google have 
already admitted that their marketplace will be in beta at launch and on 
every G1 sold.

I've been involved in ISO 9001 certification processes in my time, and 
the end result tended to slow productivity, hamper innovation, or, more 
commonly, end up with a procedure manual that was mainly used as a doorstop.
