First, thanks for your comments.

So, you reported mainly missing functionalities and UI behaviour
inconveniences from your point of view.
No bugs ? Great :D

Ok, now I explain you my reason.

> New appointment always with "alarm on" as default, cannot change.

yes, because nobody creates new appointment and don't want be notified
about it.

- Appointment only has start time but no end time.

at this time, each appointment has internal period of 15 minutes.
However, there can be added option for edit this in future, but at
this time I wanted AnCal be very ease to use, with basic
functionailty.

- Cannot make exceptions to repeating appointments. Can only delete
the entire appointment. Cannot delete a particular instance.

yes, at this time there is no functionality like this.

- Doesn't work well in resolution other than HVGA-P.

did you see G1 model with low resolution ? Yes, year ago, when Google
released SDK for low-res devices, AnCal worked with them. Now, we have
high-res screens and touch-driven interfaces.

- Doesn't show "day ? of year".

when I get new idea, where to place label for that, I do that.

- No "year view".

who needs this ? I don't know. Me not :) But if more users will do, I
do that.

- No floating event.

at this time, I don't think it is important future. I never used it,
though I was using many PIM's starting from Palm m100, ending on Palm
TX, through some PPC's

- No sync function.

AnCal is not finished yet. Google Calendar also had no syncing for
some time. And they have a lot more resources for working on that than
me. Syncing will be done when I get phone
for testing.

- Doesn't share the same backend with built-in Calendar app. May cause
problem further down the stretch, when other apps expect to find
calendaring data from the built-in Calendar app...?

AnCal do not use public providers at this time.

- At first sight I thought the big CROSS icon means "cancel".

Phone has key, that works as a "Cancel". That key is "back" :D
UI must be simple.

- Cannot make it always starts on a particular screen (e.g. "Today").

I don't quite get what you mean.

- Doesn't honour system-wide date format.

some details, please ? What screens, what controls, what is, what you
expect ?

- No compress view in day view. (e.g. Remove idle hours to save screen
space.)

I know. I have internal "option" for doing this, but no idea at this
time, how to make UI switch for that.

- Cannot configure default time range shown in day view, always 6am to
10pm.

yes, there will be option in settings for that.

- No confirmation dialog for deletions.

yes. Because I use Samsung gsm simple phone with stupid calendar,
where every operation needs to be confirmed with stupid confirmation
windows. And it takes a lot of time. And time is precious.

Mobile software must be designed for fast, instant using. First, user
takes time to learn software, then repeats many times the same
behaviour patterns. So he knows, what button does what. No
confirmations. If you are reckless enoguh to delete important data,
it's your problem ;) Other users will be gratefull for no
confirmations, where they are unwanted.

Ok, maybe there will be option in settings for confirmations, but
later :)

- Fixed font size.

of course they are fixed. Google calendar has variable fonts ?

Thanks for your time.
