You're welcome. : ) As you have noted, many of my comments are concerned with the UI. Because I think it's quite important for a calendar app to have an efficient UI.
I have some further comments below... > > New appointment always with "alarm on" as default, cannot change. > yes, because nobody creates new appointment and don't want be notified > about it. A configurable option will be welcomed. > - Doesn't work well in resolution other than HVGA-P. > did you see G1 model with low resolution ? IMO it's a useful feature although may not be used everyday. A multiple-month view is also useful. > - Doesn't share the same backend with built-in Calendar app. May cause > problem further down the stretch, when other apps expect to find > calendaring data from the built-in Calendar app...? > AnCal do not use public providers at this time. I'm just thinking, for example, a new sync solution is released for the built-in Calendar, if AnCal shares the same backend/database, then it will automatically have a new sync solution as well. Ceteris paribus. > - At first sight I thought the big CROSS icon means "cancel". > Phone has key, that works as a "Cancel". That key is "back" :D > UI must be simple. If I press the "Home" button when in Day View. When I get back to AnCal, it's still in Day View. Maybe some users prefer to have it always launched with a certain view (e.g. "Today View"). A configurable option will suffice. > - Doesn't honour system-wide date format. > some details, please ? What screens, what controls, what is, what you > expect ? In Settings, the date format is YYYY-MM-DD, but in AnCal, it's still DD-MM-YYYY. > - No confirmation dialog for deletions. > yes. Because I use Samsung gsm simple phone with stupid calendar....... But at the same time accidental deletions are annoying when there's no undelete function. > - Fixed font size. > of course they are fixed. Google calendar has variable fonts ? Not sure, but I think the fonts can be smaller to maximize the screen estate. The built-in calendar doesn't even launch on the emulator so can't tell. P.S. Just a reminder... I tested it using the emulator only... Cheers.
