You are right, I obviously didn't read the purchase information carefully enough.
I've just successfully purchased a UK application from the market, took me a while to find one amongst the flood of U.S. ones! Thanks for pointing that out for me Stoyan :) So it looks to me that I have 4 options when getting US applications: 1) Avoid them 2) Change to a bank that offers a U.S. accepted card 3) Obtain by direct sale from developer (assuming this is possible) 4) By illegitimate means (e.g. cracked version from Internet) Just for completeness, is there another method of payment that will make purchasing U.S. applications possible for me, such as Paypal integration or payments by standing order in Google Checkout? Alternatively, it would be nice to be able to hide U.S. paid applications as long as I am unable to buy them, so I can search for only applications that I am able to pay for... My bank account is with Natwest, which is one of the leading banks in the UK. Assuming most Natwest customers are in the same situation as me, this will probably have a big effect on U.K. market sales, as people will not use the market if they can't buy the majority of the paid applications being advertised to them. The reason I point this out (apart from my obvious frustration with not being able to buy applications on my phone ;) ) is that there are a number of people on this list discussing the low revenue from UK sales; this is one possible reason for it.
