I do understand how hearing the same complaints over and over again
would make anyone on the receiving end a little frustrated. In fact
there should be no complaints -whatsoever- about an open source
project. If you don't like it, then buy an iPhone (or a Storm or Touch
Pro of Omnia or a rotary telephone or 2 tin cans tied together with
string or whatever). If you -do- like the platform, and see promise in
it, then you should offer only feature requests, constructive
suggestions, bug reports, etc. And obviously only a small percentage
of Android users know how to write Java code using the Android SDK (or
code that modifies the Android base OS), so the constructive feedback
from Android's non-programmer users should be welcomed (and, in large
part, I believe it is). ----- This isn't aimed at the original poster,
but just at anyone who writes anything in mostly "complainy" tone. :-)

As for a request that I have -- [and I imagine this has been requested/
suggested elsewhere but I haven't come across it, though I haven't
read all the discussions from all the Android Groups, and all of the
myriad Android-related forums out there] -- I would love to see the
ability to sort my installed apps into different categories -- Games,
Utilities, Internet, Media, Productivity, etc. As it stands right now,
flipping the app menu up from the bottom gives me an alphabetical
listing of all apps installed, regardless of how often I use them, and
not categorized into different sections. I haven't looked into whether
or not I can use a file browser to create subfolders and move app
shortcuts into there, but this sort of feature built into the OS would
be handy.

I wouldn't be surprised if this sort of feature is already planned, or
at least has been suggested elsewhere.

Also, I would like to see the ability to create more than 3 virtual
desktops. I have already filled up all 3 desktops with icons and would
like even more space. Perhaps the user could flick their finger up in
order to see 3 more virtual desktops below the main 3. This could be
implemented as a feature that is turned OFF by default in order to
save resources. One thing I like about Android vs. Windows Mobile is
how convenient it is to launch any program, any phone activity (like
making a phone call), etc. (I haven't seen this requested anywhere
either).
