Don't get your panties in a knot.
There are accounting/legal issues to bring the paid market to new
areas. The first canadian carrier to carry an android device was just
a FEW DAYS AGO (less than one month). Give it time and the paid market
will be made available, or option #2 is to run a program called
"market enabler". Do a google search for it. Note that market enabler
requires root access, and yes, you can root your rogers/dream as of
now (search for xda forum).

And FYI: The label "G1" does not in any way apply to your device. G1
is just what tmobile calls their *UNBRANDED* HTC Dream.

I further suggest that if you can't read (you suggest that the guides
are "too long for me to read" - I can only imagine that this means
that you are just barely literate), then you might just want to wait
for a while until the accounting/legal issues have been dealt with.
