Personally, one of the main reasons I see for slow sales is that a large
number of countries *still* can't purchase apps. I regularly get mails from
users wanting to buy my app but can't due to where they live and can't root
their phone to find ways round it.

If Google enabled more countries then surely that would bring in more sales
immediately..?

But don't get me wrong, in-app payments would be cool, but too many of us
devs have a paid and a free app out there. If we stick in-app payments into
the free app then won't the user still have to download the full and
uninstall the free? Unless google can supply some kind of way of safely
"nobbling" a full app to act limited until the user performs an in-app
payment to unlock the full functionality. And it has to be better than a
simple "if paid then" twist as the hackers will just love something that
easy to hack..
